Enjoli Ferrari is the Youth Leadership Manager of Environmental Education. She works with campus EcoClubs and groups of students interested in making environmental change. Enjoli joined TreePeople in 2012 as an Eco-educator, guiding students on tours that encourage environmental awareness. Now you can find her on campus supporting Eco-clubs with goal setting, project development and greening projects. When she’s not on sight, she enjoys arboriculture, creating new recipes and traveling.

Magnificent March for Green Youth Leaders

Students across LA are leading the charge in their communities like never before! Just last month, TreePeople’s Youth Leadership Program accomplished some magnificent numbers:

  • 130 Youth Directly Engaged In Events
  • 40+ Native Plants Cared For at Coldwater Canyon Park
  • 120 Trees Cared For around LA
  • 600+ square feet of California Poppy Seeds Planted

Youth Leaders Aim for Climate-Ready Schools!

The future of our environment lies in the hands of our teens, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Earlier this month, our Environmental Education department hosted one of our favorite events, The Youth Leadership Summit. Every year we invite students from all over the County who are eager to change the future of LA’s environmental up to our hilltop for a day to build and hone their leadership skills with other like-minded teens.

Youth Leaders Shine Bright at Annual EcoClub Youth Summit

It’s going to be another green school year thanks to these teens!

Last month, 35 youth leaders from all over LA gathered on our hilltop for our annual Youth Leadership & EcoClub Summit. It was a great day watching students build leadership skills and network with other like-minded teens.

Our goal was simple. The event served to help inspire and guide these young leaders and their campus EcoClubs. We shared how partnering with TreePeople could help make their vision come to life to make positive environmental changes on their campuses and in their communities by planting and caring for trees and gardens, recycling waste, capturing water and more!  Read more >>

 

Be Prepared: Eagle Scout Digs In

An Eagle Scout is always prepared– especially in the face of climate change.

Last month, Eagle Scout Wesley Wu worked with me, TreePeople’s Service Learning Manager and Youth Leader Specialist of Environmental Education, and a group of his peers to care for our park.

Wesley lead by example using his Eagle Scout training to rally over 40 students from six different schools across LA County to support one of our city’s most valuable resources– our trees. At the tree care and trail restoration event he organized, he opened up the morning to instill his fellow volunteers with the importance of tree care and demonstrated the proper planting techniques.Read more >>
