Come Howl at the Moon with TreePeople!

In Los Angeles, we’re lucky we can get outside day and night, all year around. Celebrate our favorable climate by joining us for our last Moonlight Hike of 2012–tonight, Friday, December 28, at 6:30 p.m. It’s a family-friendly adventure that starts at TreePeople’s headquarters and explores the nighttime views and sounds of Coldwater Canyon Park. And, no kidding, you will be invited to howl at the moon.

The 45-minute hikes are moderately paced and guided by members of TreePeople’s education staff. They will introduce you to Timmy the Tree, the Pointy Sisters, the Medicine Brothers, and Grandmother Oak. When you check in, you may be treated to live music and possibly persuaded to take a turn at the mic yourself. From there, choose one of three hikes of varying lengths, from half a mile to two miles. Children, grandparents, and couples longing to visit the Kissing Bench are all welcome.

Enjoy the starred canopy under the tree canopy!

Mollie Stephens came to TreePeople as a transplant from Maryland, missing the sprawling forests of the East Coast. Getting her hands dirty with TreePeople convinced her that she could make Los Angeles her new home, and her passion is matching volunteers with experiences that will connect them with their community. When she's not digging in the dirt, she enjoys cooking, reading and kayaking.
