Discover the North Valleyheart Riverwalk, April 21

VillageGardeners_2-frame

In April we branch out on our next community tree walk with partners at the Village Gardeners, who will show us their beautification and restoration efforts along the Los Angeles River in Studio City. Trees and water unite in a leisurely and informative stroll through areas of the designated North Valleyheart Riverwalk Greenway, part of the L.A. River Master Plan. You’ll see the progress of major volunteer planting efforts and find out how you can become involved in raising the standard for environmental stewardship in this area.

TreePeople’s Branching Out Community Tree Walks offer Angelenos a chance to put on their tree vision and get to know both the vegetation and the people in their neighborhoods —  at street level. The socially-paced walks offer plenty of time for discussion and questions that often carry over to a local pub afterward.

The April 21 walk convenes at the Richard Lillard Outdoor Classroom, located at 13236 Valleyheart Dr. between Fulton Ave. and Longridge Ave., Studio City.

Mollie Stephens came to TreePeople as a transplant from Maryland, missing the sprawling forests of the East Coast. Getting her hands dirty with TreePeople convinced her that she could make Los Angeles her new home, and her passion is matching volunteers with experiences that will connect them with their community. When she's not digging in the dirt, she enjoys cooking, reading and kayaking.
